Stop Watering Other People’s Money Tree
By B. Habibi
For too long IT professionals and Business Consultants working on a 1099 or W2 basis for staffing companies have been making less than what they should be earning. We are good at making money for passthrough vendors but not so good at representing ourselves and earning top dollar for our valuable services.
We have to stop watering other people’s money tree. In particular, the money tree of staffing companies who take too much of the client bill rate and leave too little for the person who is doing the actual work. They take the client money, invest in their growth and prosperity, and leave you with the scraps.
We need to plant the seeds and water our own money tree. You are the asset around which the staffing vendors are enriching themselves. We need to change that.
